” It’s kind of funny how we met. We met at Papa Duke’s BBQ on highway 157 near WestPoint. I worked at the Marathon just right up the road. A lot of days I would leave work to go sit with my friends at Papa Dukes.
Little did I know that I would meet the man I would marry there!
One evening I walked in, I saw three ” Cowboys ” sitting at a booth. I was shy so I didn’t speak.
My mom was also with me and she started a conversation with them. I didn’t have much to say.
I was completely opposite from country so I felt like I had nothing in common. What do you talk to cowboys about?
I had on converse, winged liner, and holey Jeans. I never would have imagined having a cowboy for a husband at the time.”
” The night went on and then we left. My mother told me she really liked “him” ( Ethan) in particular. She went on to ask me what I thought. I told her, ‘Well, he’s a cowboy’. “
For the next few weeks we showed up at Papa Dukes almost every evening at the same time… by accident! I could tell I was starting to enjoy his company. His laugh and sense of humor, that’s what got me!
Eventually he started coming to the gas station to sit with me at night while I closed the store. I was still so shy and didn’t have much to do with him, but I knew that I liked him. ”
” We finally started dating October 31, 2010, Halloween! We had been seeing each other for a couple of months. I was 17 and he was 20. We have been together almost 6 years now. I wouldn’t change a thing!
Ethan didn’t propose to me. Mainly because marriage is such a huge deal and we had dated for so long. We had plenty of talks, and plenty of what if’s. We just drove to Zales unexpectedly and he told me to pick out what I wanted, bless his heart.
I remember that day like it was yesterday! All the way home we were excited, scared, and happy all at the same time. But mostly happy! After almost 6 years of dating, it was such a change. Some people just don’t understand the change.
But it’s a good change! “
” We are definitely at least 99% opposite from one another. That’s why we love each other! There’s never a dull moment between us! We have our ins and outs, ups and downs, differences, laughs, good times, unforgettable memories, dreams and goals. As much as he and I have been through these past six years, I know that in my heart we will always love each other. No matter the circumstances, or no matter how hard life can be. I know that God will see us through every time! “
” Some people may not know, but prayer gets a long way. I prayed to God for our relationship and I’ll continue to pray for our marriage! God has never let us down! ” – Haley Seely
Ethan and Haley had the cutest wedding at Chapel Valley Farms! It was the perfect venue for the Cowboy and his bride! The altar where they said their ‘ I do’s ‘ was absolutely gorgeous! It gave the ceremony a very classy country feel!
The whole wedding party were such a fun group and the bride and groom’s family were so sweet and friendly! I love being able to capture beautiful weddings like this, especially when I get to be around sweet people!
I absolutely loved how Ethan and Haley’s engagement session turned out and I knew after meeting them that their country wedding was going to be great!
Thank you Ethan and Haley for sharing your story and for choosing me to capture your love! May God bless your marriage!!!
