“Clark and I met at Troy University. I transferred to Troy my junior year of college. I started getting involved in the Baptist Campus Ministries, where I start hanging out with a group of friends and Clark was one of them. Clark and I were able to get to know each other as friends. The next fall, Clark asked my dad if he could date me. The next week we went on our first date. We started dating on 10/11/12. We dated for three and a half years before getting married.”
“The proposal took place at Oak Mountain. It was Sunday, July 5th, 2015. Clark and I met that morning and went to church together. We had planned earlier in the week to go to Oak Mountain to see the Owl exhibit. I LOVE owls, and I had never been to see the exhibit. Clark told me after church that his mom was coming through town and wanted to meet us for lunch, so we were going to meet her at oak mountain and maybe have a picnic. I didn’t really think anything about it, I just went along with it. We get to Oak Mountain and go to the owl exhibit. We are just looking around. We walk the last exhibit, Clark turns me around to him and the drops to one knee and proposes! Of course, I said yes! Both of our parents were hiding around the corner and came out afterwards. He also had his uncle, who is a photographer, there to take pictures. After he proposed, we had a picnic with both of our families. It was absolutely perfect.”
“I Love Clark with my whole heart. I love his love for God. I love the way he treats me and everyone with respect. I love how family is important to him. I love how he encourages me, and always makes me smile. I love how we always have fun together. I am so happy we get to spend the rest of our lives together.” –Macey
“I love everything about her. I love her smile and her laugh. Her heart to serve others and put them first. I love how goofy she is and how we can always be silly together. She never fails to make me smile. And most importantly, I love her Christ-like attitude and her love for Jesus. She’s perfect for me and I’m so thankful God gave her to me. “-Clark
The special day started at Simply Hair salon, where all the ladies got their hair and make up done. You can just feel the excitement and nerves in the room especially when it was time for the bride to get dolled up. Clark and Macey’s wedding was held at Mathew’s Manor‘s new venue. The new building had just been recently finished and Clark and Macey’s wedding was the first to have it at that location! The Ceremony was held outside and had the most gorgeous flower arrangement at the altar! We had done all the formal pictures outside by the field, trees and the stone bridge. Everything was all right there within a few walking distance!
I loved how the reception venue felt like a giant back porch with the rolling doors up that brought the beautiful weather inside.
After the fun bubble exit , for the first time in my years of wedding photography, the photographers and videographer hopped in the getaway vehicle and joined the bride and groom as they waved goodbye to the guests! Of course everyone was confused and didn’t know that the bride and groom had asked us to get some pictures of them across the road in front of the water fountain. It was definitely a very fun and memorable wedding!
I had the pleasure of capturing Clark and Macey’s fun engagement session in Birmingham and now their Wedding day in Springville! Thank you Mr and Mrs Gully for sharing your story and for choosing me to capture your love!
May God bless your marriage and future together!
